FDG PET/CT

Oncologic and Brain:

PET/CT combines the technology of CT and PET in one comprehensive study. Unlike other imaging exams, PET/CT detects changes in how cells function and metabolize nutrients such as sugar and oxygen. This painless test utilizes a radioactive material that is similar to glucose, to detect changes in cellular function. PET/CT can differentiate between benign and malignant tissue with great accuracy.

NaF (Sodium Fluoride)

PET/CT Bone Scan:

In comparison to conventional bone scans, Sodium Fluoride PET/CT Bone Scans:

  • Are more accurate for identifying skeletal lesions

  • Are more sensitive and more specific in identifying bone metastases

  • May allow accurate, early detection of bone metastases in patients with breast cancer, lung cancer and other tumor types
